📡 Overview
Zap Remote ("the app", "we") does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our servers — because we do not run servers. Everything stays on your device.
📦 Information We Collect
We collect no personal information. The app stores the following locally on your device (in iOS UserDefaults) and never transmits it off-device:
TV name & IP addressTV brand & MAC addressSamsung pairing tokensLG client keysCustom macrosPinned & recent appsAI conversation historyOnboarding statusPro subscription flag
Delete all of this at any time by uninstalling the app or tapping Settings → Reset all settings inside the app.
We do not operate analytics servers, track your usage, location, advertising identifier, contacts, or browsing history, or use third-party analytics, ad networks, attribution SDKs, or trackers.
📶 Network Access
The app uses your local Wi-Fi network to discover and control TVs on the same network. Commands are sent directly from your device to the TV using each manufacturer's documented control protocol:
- Roku ECP over HTTP
- Samsung Tizen WebSocket
- LG webOS WebSocket
No commands are routed through our servers. We don't have any.
🎙️ Microphone & Speech
If you use the AI assistant's voice input, the app uses your device's microphone and Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer framework. Speech recognition is performed on-device whenever your device supports it; otherwise Apple may process audio on its servers under Apple's own privacy terms. Audio is never sent to us or any third party other than Apple. We do not record, store, or retain any audio.
🤖 AI Assistant
The AI assistant uses Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework (Apple Intelligence). Your prompts and the model's responses are processed entirely on your device and never sent to us or any third-party language model provider. Your conversation history is stored only in local UserDefaults on your device.
💳 Purchases & Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see, handle, or store your payment information. Apple handles billing, taxes, and refunds. Your subscription status is derived from Apple's Transaction.currentEntitlements on your device.
👶 Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13.
🗑️ Data Deletion
Because no data is ever transmitted off your device, there is nothing for us to retain or delete server-side. To erase locally-stored data, uninstall the app or use Settings → Reset all settings.
📝 Changes & Contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
